Rules of Prohibiting Ragging
Higher and Technical Education Department
Mantralaya Annex, Mumbai 400032, dated the 19th May 1999.

Notification :

No.Sankrina . 1098/9133/98/UNI-3 . In exercise of the power-conferred by sub-Section (2) of Section 1 of the Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging act, 1999 the Government of Maharashtra hereby appoints the first day of June 1999 to be the date on which the said act shall come in to force.

Rules of Discipline
  • Every student of this college has to obey the rules of college discipline, relating to all its departments.
  • Students must observe / follow complete silence in the college premises. They should not loiter in the garden. They should utilize their spare time in the reading hall of the Library. In case of misbehaviour, severe disciplinary action will be taken by the college Authority .Strict action will be taken if the student found chewing panmasala or chewingum.
  • Use of Mobile phones is prohibited whenever academic activity is going on (Classroom, Laboratories, Library, etc) otherwise strict action will be taken.
  • Students are advised of be regular & punctual. 75 % attendance is compulsory according to University of Pune norms .All attendance record is strictly observed and maintained.
  • No Society or Association of the student will be allowed to arrange or participate any function in the college without prior permission of the Principal.
  • No outside person shall be invited to address or entertain the student of the college or no society or association be formed by them in the college without prior permission of the Principal.
  • Subjects of debate or events of entertainment in the college shall first be approved by the Principal .A responsible person approved or nominated by the Principal shall be in the chair at all college debate.
  • All the departments of the college (Gymkhana , Library etc.) will work according to rules made in that behalf from time to time by the Principal .
  • Grant of Terms
    Admission to each academic year is fresh one. The question of grant of term will be decided on the basis of the following factors.
    a. Attendance at lecturer and Submission of tutorials.
    b. Performance in monthly tests, terminal examinations, internal examination and University examination.
    c. General behaviour of the students in the class room and in the premises of the college.
    d. Payment of full fees and all the dues.
  • The student should carry Identity Card with him/her regularly and it should be produced if demanded by the authority of the college. The student is advised to carry the identity card outside the premises of college whenever he/she is representing the college.
  • Students of all classes have to note that any application regarding issuing or bonafide Certificate passing certificate S.T. concession forms etc. must be submitted at least two days in advance. This will enable us to prepare and keep it ready for the delivery in time.
  • The vehicles should be parked at an authorised parking space on their own risk.
  • The students should read the notices displayed on the Notice Board regularly. The college will not be responsible for any kind of loss due to negligence on part of the students.
  • Any damage to the college property, furniture, equipment, library books, building, etc. must be paid for immediately by the student.
  • The above rules of discipline are always subject to change, without prior notice & shall be modified when the principal deems it fit & proper. The decision of the principal shall be final & binding on the students.

Library Rules

Library Timing :

Library Working Hours : 9.00 a.m to 4.00 p.m.
Books Issue & Return Timing : 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and 02.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.


  • Every user entering the library shall sign the visitors register for the purpose of record for office use.
  • Students shall maintain absolute silence within the library Reading Rooms / Stack area to avoid disturbance to others.
  • Mobile phones are to be kept on silent mode while entering in the library.
  • Food and drinks are not permitted in the library.
  • During class time, students are not allowed make time pass in library.
  • No reader is allowed to sleep in the library premises.
  • Students are liable for punishment and fine, if they either misbehave or damage library books or any other property.

Issue and return of books

  • I-Card and library card is compulsory to issue books.
  • The library Card and Reader Tickets is not transferable.
  • Each student shall be provided ONE book per card.
  • The book will be issued for the time period of 7 days.
  • If the books are not returned on the due date then, fine of Rs. 5/- per day will be charged.
  • The borrower is fully responsible for the books issued against the cards issued to him/her. In 7. In case of loss of cards, the user shall report such loss immediately to the librarian, failing which he/she will be responsible for any misuse of his/her cards or books issued against such lost card.
  • In order to renew the book, I-Card and book is necessary.
  • Reference books, Dictionaries, magazines, Journals and unbound periodicals will not be issued.

Fine / Overdue charges.

  • Fine for duplicate I – Card: Library card – Rs.50.00/- I- Card- Rs. 100/-
  • If a student fails to return the book before the due date, a fine of R s. 5/- per day per book for seven days will be levied.
  • A request form along with author name and title of the book will be deposited to get a book reserve facility.
  • If any student is found tearing , stealing or defacing books/ journals magazines a fine is to be paid i.e. the cost of the book.
  • If any book issued is lost or not returned within four weeks after due weeks after due date, the amount of penalty will be either book replacement or cost of the book.
