Rules of Prohibiting Ragging

No. Sankrina. 1098/9133/98)/UNI-3. In exercise of the powers-conferred by Sub-Section(2) of section 1 of the Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging act, 1999 the Government of Maharashtra hereby appoints the first day of June 1999 to be the date on which the said act shall come in to force.

By order and in the name of the Governor of Maharashtra.

  • It is always necessary to carry the Identity card with him/her.
  • It is obligatory for students to show Identity Card if asked by teaching and non-teaching member of the college.
  • Moving in the corridors during class hours is strictly prohibited.
  • Any act which will disturb the academic work of the college is strictly banned.
  • Any act which leads to damage of the college building and property is banned.
  • Strict discipline in the class-room during teaching is to be maintained
  • Decent behavior with the teaching, non-teaching staff and girl students is expected.
  • Smoking and chewing tobacco in the campus is strictly prohibited.
  • Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited in the college campus.
  • In case of difficulties, student should consult respective heads of the departments.
  • Student has to follow the rules set by the library.
  • Discipline is expected on the ground during sport activities.
  • Student has to follow all the instructions given by the concerned teachers during visits for youth festival, sports events, debate competitions outside the college, industrial visits.
  • The students have to park their vehicles in notified parking area on their own risk.
  • Student should read the notices displayed on the Notice Board regularly. The college will not be responsible for any kind of loss due to negligence on part of the students.
  • Students should attend their classes as per the division and subjects notified for them.
  • Students are not allowed to carry weapons with them. If found, are liable for legal action.
  • Any sort of physical and mental torture (ragging) is a crime. In case of any complaint, legal action will be taken.
  • Grants of terms:

    Admission to each academic year is fresh one. The question of grant of terms will be decided on the basis of the following factors.

    • Attendance at lectures & Practical should be minimum 75%.
    • Regular Submission of tutorials.
    • Performance in monthly tests, terminal examinations, internal examinations and University Examinations
    • General behavior of the student in the classroom and in the premises of the college.
    • Payment of full fees and all the dues.

Students should read this set of rules and regulations. It is obligatory on the students to follow these rules. Any act against these rules will be considered as indiscipline and that student or a group of students are liable for the disciplinary action decided by the Principal and the discipline committee of the college. The decision taken by the discipline committee will be final and obligatory for the student.

Library Rules

Timing :

Library working hours : 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

Books issue and return timing : 10 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.

Discipline :

  • Every user entering in the library shall sign the visitors register for the purpose of records for office use.
  • Students shall maintain absolute silence within the library Reading Room/Stack area to avoid disturbance to others.
  • Mobile Phones are to be kept on silent mode while entering the library.
  • Food and drinks are not permitted in the library.
  • During class time, Students are not allowed to spend time in library.
  • No reader is allowed to sleep in the library premises.
  • Students are liable for punishment and fine, if they either misbehave or damage library books or any other property.

Issue and Return of books :

  • I- card and library card is compulsory to issue books.
  • The library card and Readers Ticket is not transferable.
  • Each student shall be provided ONE book per card.
  • The book will be issued for the time period of 7 days.
  • If the books are not returned on the due date fine of Rs.5/-per day will be charged.
  • The borrower is fully responsible for the books issued against the cards issued to him/her.
  • In case of loss of cards, the user shall report such loss immediately to the librarian, failing which he/she will be responsible for any misuse of his/her card or books issued against such lost card.
  • In order to renew the book, I-Card and book is necessary.
  • Reference books, Dictionaries, Magazines, Journals and unbound periodicals will not be issued.

Fine / Overdue Charges :

  • Fine for duplicate card : Library card-Rs.50.00/- I Card- Rs.100/-
  • If a student fails to return the book before the due date,a fine of Rs.5/- per day book till the delay continues.
  • A request form along with author name and title of the book will be deposited to get a book reserve facility.
  • If any student is found tearing, stealing or defacing books/ journals/magazines a fine is to be paid .i.e. the cost of the book.
  • If any book issued is lost or not returned within four weeks after due date, the amount of penalty will be either book replacement or cost of the book.

Library is going to arrange “Best Reader Award” in the coming academic year for faculty & student.
